Steve Lawrence

Funeral services for Steve Lawrence, 58-year-old long-time “voice of the Buffalo Bison” and Buffalo resident, who passed away suddenly Wednesday evening, June 11, 2008, in Buffalo, will be held 10 a.m. Monday, June 16, from the Buffalo High School gym with Father Pete Johnson officiating.

Visitation will be held from the Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday, June 15.  Burial will be in Willow Grove Cemetery with graveside rites to follow the funeral.

Steve announced for KBBS for 38 years and announced his usual morning show the morning he died. His love was sports announcing and he announced the Buffalo Bison games both home and away for more than 38 years and several hundred thousand miles.  Steve also loved his Community Speaks program which he also headed for over 38 years.

Donations may be made in Steve’s memory to the Steve Lawrence Athletic Support Fund in care of the Adams Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams Ave. in Buffalo.

" Steve loved broadcasting, his community and his family. The Wy Association of Broadcasters inducted Steve into the Hall of Fame in 2006. During our annual banquet in Cody last week, which Steve was scheduled to attend, we re-ran his 2006 induction video. We wanted to bid our friend farewell and let everyone in attendance remember a fabulous broadcaster. "
