Bomgaars, a chain of farm and ranch stores, is expanding into Buffalo, with the purchase of the vacant former Shopko building.

Craig Wetterlund, a Century 21 real estate agent, announced the closing of the transaction in a meeting with members of the city council on Tuesday afternoon. 

According to its website, the supplier has 94 stores in seven states and typically stocks 60,000 items in 13 major departments, including lawn and garden, clothing and footwear, farm, automotive supplies, paint, hardware, tools, house wares, and toys. The retailer has locations in Gillette, Newcastle and Worland among other Wyoming locations.

Wetterlund said Tuesday that the addition of the retail store in Buffalo could be store to come to “big boost” for the town.
