As of around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Buffalo city pool is closed until further notice due to a confirmed case of COVID-19.

“We’re closing our city pool as of 45 minutes ago,” Johnson County Public Health Officer Dr. Mark Schueler said. “There’s an employee who tested positive.”

County health officials are beginning an investigation of who the employee may have come into contact with in an effort to contain the spread of the virus.

In a press release Thursday, the Johnson County Emergency Operations wrote that contact tracing is continuing today. All contacts will be notified about this case from Johnson County Public Health or the Wyoming Department of Health. Once the investigation is complete, the Johnson County Emergency Operations Center will release that information via press release. The definition of a close contact is being within 6 feet of a positive case for longer than 10 minutes. If you have not been contacted by a public health official by the end of the day on Friday August 7, you were not identified as a close contact.
