Johnson County Emergency Management is asking Buffalo residents to turn off their sprinklers and conserve water as much as possible as repairs take place at the  Buffalo Water Treatment Plant.

A computer system at the plant has experienced a malfunction, preventing water from being properly treated in the plant. A computer technician has been dispatched but officials say repairs may take up to two days.

According Johnson County Emergency Management, a reserve of potable water will service the city but reserves are limited. Emergency officials are asking to limit water to household use only. Limit water use to drinking, food preparation, and personal hygiene.
