Tammy Fagerland

Sept. 27, 1960 – Oct. 13, 2020

On Oct. 13, 2020 Tammy Fagerland (Vassen) loving partner, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away peacefully in Cottonwood, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents Orville and Ethel Vassen, along with her brother Doug Vassen. Tammy is survived by her loving partner Bill Nelson of 23 years; her two sons, Jeremy and Jen Vassen and Matt And Josie Fagerland; her siblings, Greg and Virginia Vassen, Brad and Gwen Vassen, Kendal and Sheila Vassen and Tom and Debbie Vassen; and grandchildren, CaLeah, Harper, Anna, Alex, and Carter. 

Tammy was born in Crosby, North Dakota on Sept. 27, 1960, she was the youngest of six children and the only girl. Tammy attended and graduated from Divide County High School in 1978. 

Tammy later moved to Buffalo in 1985, where she worked as kitchen manager for the senior center and later the school. Tammy and Bill met in 1997 and quickly fell in love. They enjoyed traveling, camping and each other’s company. In 2012 Bill and Tammy moved to Sedona, Arizona where they resided at the time of her death. 

Tammy cherished the simple things in life. Spending time with her precious family and friends. She loved nothing more than watching her boys play sports throughout high school and college, traveling with Bill and her grandchildren. 

Tammy meant a great deal to her friends and family, she will be truly missed and always remember in our hearts.

A memorial service and burial will be held in Crosby and Ambrose North Dakota, tentatively in the spring of 2021.
