Barbara was born Sept. 11, 1945 to Roy and Edith Crisler, and grew up in Denver with her eight brothers and sisters. She graduated from Denver High School with the class of 1963 and attended Denver Business School.

She married her young love, Jon DeWald on Sept. 5, 1964 and they made a home in Colorado and had four beautiful children. In 1978 they moved their family to Buffalo. Although Jon and Barbara divorced in 1983, they remained friends and enjoyed raising their family.

Barbara met the love of her life, Red Roberts, and they married in 1984. They enjoyed many years of Mountain Man Rendezvous, camping and adventures until sadly, Red passed away in 1998. Barbara was fortunate to find love again when she met Les Fowler. They were the best of friends and companions, enjoying life together until his death in 2012.

Barbara was a loving mother, and an avid, lifetime Denver Broncos fan. She loved to play the “boards” and share good conversation over cocktails. She loved fishing and camping and the outdoors. She was a dedicated worker and enjoyed working for over 20 years at the Johnson County Healthcare Center and had many friends there.

Barbara was preceded in death by her companion Les Fowler; husband Red Roberts; ex-husband Jon DeWald; parents; two brothers, Burd and Dick; and five sisters, Lorraine, Edna, Evelyn, Eleanor and Jerry; and stepson Chris Roberts. She is survived by her children, Jeff (Julie) Dewald, Brighton, Colorado, LeeAnn (Tom) Holt, Buffalo, Diane (Wayne) Woodall, Buffalo and Danelle (Tom) Hakert, Grand Junction, Colorado; her 10 beloved grandchildren; 11 cherished great-grandchildren; sister Carol (Howard) Bristor, Nebraska; sister-in-law Connie Crisler, Kansas, brother–in-law Jack Wilkins, Colorado, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
