Jim Dearing

Jim Dearing, 92, passed away on Feb. 2, 2023 at Buffalo. He was born James Francis Dearing on Jan. 20, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri, to Stanley F. Dearing and Edith M. (Hennrich) Dearing. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Patricia and his three children, Michael, Patricia and John. He is survived by his three grandchildren, Jacob and Nicole of Arizona, and Ray of Texas; his sisters Mary Lou of Minnesota and Ruthie of Washington State, and his brother Joe of New Mexico. He is also survived by six nephews and one niece.

Jim was raised on a farm near Sparta, Illinois, and graduated in 1949 from Sparta High School. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War Infantry Regiment 224 and served in Korea. He was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in accountancy from the University of Illinois, and he enjoyed a career working in accounting, computer programming and information technology with Cummins, Inc. in Indiana, and with Motorola Solutions in Arizona. After a second career in health services, Jim retired to Buffalo about 1994, and he enjoyed many years of golf, hunting, fishing and being a volunteer to hospice. 

The family expresses sincere thanks to all the truly dedicated and caring healthcare workers that helped Jim at both Amie Holt Care Center and Johnson County Hospital. No local services are planned.
