Margo Beth Bartlett Gish, 75, passed away peacefully on Nov. 17, 2019, in Fleming Island, Florida following a long battle with dementia.
Margo was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, to Elmer and Ida May “Tiny” Bartlett on May 8, 1944. She graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1966. She married Merlin “Gus” Gish on Aug. 6, 1967, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. She worked as a home economics teacher at Clear Creek Middle School for 28 years, and prior to that she was the executive director of the Buffalo Senior Center for four years. She was an amazing teacher, craftswoman, gardener, friend, sister, mother and wife who touched the lives of everyone she came in touch with.
Margo was preceded in death by her father, Elmer, and mother, Tiny.
She is survived by her loving family, including her husband of 52 years, Merlin “Gus” Gish; children, Suzanne Gish Bilyeu and Eric Gish; her siblings, Sharon Bartlett Cunningham, Judy Bartlett Clarke and Steve Bartlett; and six beautiful grandchildren that she cherished.
Her celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on June 20, 2020, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and will be officiated by Reverend Glee Bartlett. Following the service, her family will be honoring her wishes, and her ashes will be placed with the wildflowers above Buffalo in the Bighorn Mountains. She loved flowers and knew that was where she wanted to be once she left this earth.
