Funeral services for Carrie Jarvis, 63-year-old Sheridan resident who passed away suddenly Aug. 30 at a cabin in the Big Horn Mountains of natural causes, were held Monday, Sept. 7 at the Harness Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo with Father Pete Johnson officiating. Visitation was held at the funeral home chapel on Sunday. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Carrie Lee Jarvis was born on March 29, 1957 in Decatur, Illinois to Vernon and Lois Jarvis.
After high school she traveled the world, and she always lived life to the fullest.
Carrie had many places she called home, but she moved to Sheridan in 2013, where she continued living until the time of her passing.
She loved her children, granddaughters and all her dear friends that were like family. Some of her favorite things included fishing in the Bighorn Mountains, spending time with her family, collecting seashells with her granddaughter and swimming in the ocean as much as she could. She was known for her free spirit, sense of adventure, devotion to her family and her capacity for unconditional love.
She is survived by her cat “Mister,” her son Jim Evans and his wife Hope and their daughters, Chloe and Ellie Evans; her two daughters, Richelle Spencer and her husband Duncan and Cali Meyer and her husband Caleb; her three brothers and one sister; and her two special friends, Joyce Inchauspe and Debbie Moentnish. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two nephews.
