Funeral services for Virgie Grace, 92-year-old Buffalo resident who passed away Monday afternoon at the Amie Holt Care Center in Buffalo will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 30 from St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Buffalo with Rev. Camie Dewey officiating. Interment will be in Willow Grove Cemetery with graveside services to immediately follow the funeral. Visitation will be at the Harness Funeral Home Chapel from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Donations in Virgie’s memory may be made to the Bread of Life Food Pantry at 178 S. Main in Buffalo, Wyoming 82834. Virgil Angelina Grace was born on Nov. 15, 1930, in Livingston, Illinois, to Adolph and Edirge Rizzi. As an infant she moved with her family to Reliance, Wyoming, where she grew up and went to school. She graduated from Reliance High School with the class of 1948. After high school she attended the University of Wyoming where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. After college she moved to Buffalo where she taught typing and business. She met George Grace after he graduated from the University of Wyoming and moved to Buffalo to join the teaching and coaching staff at Johnson County High School. George and Virgie were married on May 25, 1953, in Buffalo and they made their home Buffalo where George became the high school principal and Virgie continued teaching. After retirement they continued living in Buffalo. George passed away in August of 2016 and Virgie continued living in Buffalo until her death.
She was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and active in their ladies organization. She was a proud supporter of the Bread of Life Food Pantry and was also an avid bridge player.
She is survived by two sons, Joel Grace and his wife Stephanie of Littleton, Colorado, and Daniel Grace and his wife Elaine of Moorcroft, and five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
