Dear Editor,

Every parent wants their children to have a better childhood than they had. I do not know one parent who wouldn’t agree, even if they had the most wonderful childhood. When you’re a mom, and you get sick, everyday tasks seem overwhelming, and the promise to make your kids’ world better than yours, diminishes. From outdoor adventures, to nightly homework checks and supper, it becomes a struggle. We are lucky to live in an amazing community, where people step up and see the struggles hardworking people face.

Our family was one of the blessed families that received a glorious Christmas from the Blue Santa Program! Words cannot describe how thankful we were to have those law enforcement officers not only provide gifts from the community support, but also take a few moments with our children. The little one even got to radio dispatch a “Merry Christmas.” I know this Christmas marked my children for life, and they are excited to see how they can pay it forward! Thank you, Buffalo Police Department, from the bottom of our hearts, for this blessing!

A Blue Santa Family
