Dear Editor,

Thank you for your viewpoint. Our community should show gratitude to our veterans each and every day, and there is no better way to show that gratitude than through our actions.

As a veteran, it has been extremely disappointing to hear and see hospital leadership taking action in opposition to a veterans nursing home being built within our community. While the challenges presented are understandable, they certainly are not unconquerable. It was not in the DNA of our brave veterans to ever let a challenge stand in their way, and our community can certainly return a fraction of that fortitude to our veterans. In addition to a beautiful location for veterans, this is an incredible opportunity for positive progress in Buffalo and partnership in our hospital district.

This Veterans Day, please put gratitude into action and come together in support of a veterans nursing home in Buffalo.
