The United States government has the ability to send bombs, drones and various other forms of death, destruction, mayhem and grief to many places on our earth, but it appears it does not have the ability to send U.S. mail to New Zealand. I learned this several weeks after preparing and sending a birthday gift to my great-granddaughter who lives in New Zealand. After I imagined the package had reached its destination it was returned to me as we do not any longer send mail to New Zealand and more than 20 other countries. I have received no satisfaction from the elected officials who represent people in Wyoming in Washington. Will this be the end of the postal service as we know it?
