The Junior Bulls baseball team put on a clinic in batting and pitching last week, downing two Gillette teams.
On June 9 the Junior Bulls hosted the Gillette Yankees and defeated them 23-2 behind solid pitching by Bryce Camino and Hayden Jawors.
Camino and Jawors got assistance from the hot bats of Brodyn Lambert and Terrance Neill – both of who had triples. Jawors and Lane Boden were both two for three at the plate.
“Everybody was hitting well,” said coach Seth Lambert.
Two nights later, the setting was different, but the outcome much the same as the Junior Bulls overpowered the host Gillette team 27-2.
Neill pitched the entire game, notching 10 strikeouts.
“He had a great game,” coach Lambert said.
Lambert said that this year’s Junior Bulls team is the largest in recent memory with 22 players. Those strong numbers are allowing coaches to mix up the lineup to ensure plenty of playing time for each player.
On Thursday, the Junior Bulls will host a home game at 7 p.m. On Saturday, Newcastle comes to town for a double header with action at noon and 3 p.m.
